What is Real Health?

“Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit.”

~ B.K.S. Iyengar

Real health is much more than a lean and muscular physique. It is the combination of 3 main parts – physical, mental and spiritual health. 20 years ago, I was probably in the best shape of my life. I was doing kung-fu and kickboxing training several times per week and lifting weights several times per week. Even though I was in the best physical shape of my life, my overall health was at it’s absolute worst. I struggled with severe depression and I was one bad decision away from ending my own life. Mentally and spiritually, I was bankrupt or you can say, I was a V1 in those parts. In order for me to turn it around, I had to start taking a more holistic approach for my health. And I think we all should if we want what’s best for ourselves.

You should consider holistic health if any of the following pertain to you:

- You want to live life to the fullest

- You want to make the most of yourself

- You want health to support your ambitions, dreams and legacy instead of interfere with it

- You want to look and feel great

- You want to be the master of your own destiny instead of the victim of circumstance

- You want to perform at a high level in various aspects of life

- You want to set a great living example and inspire others

Yes, holistic health can help you attain all of the above. Life is a performance and in yours, you are the main performer. Your body, mind and spirit are the 3 principal parts that make you, YOU. The healthier these 3 parts are, the better you will perform. It really is that simple.

Unfortunately, I know that a lot of people completely ignore one or more of these 3 principle parts. This always results in a loss of performance. In some of my previous posts/videos, I describe body, mind and spirit as a 3-player team playing a game of basketball. If you ignore a player altogether and keep them on the bench, how do you expect to win the game? Life is a 3-player game so without holistic health, you are playing short-handed.

Why are so many people playing short-handed? There are numerous reasons and it really differs from person to person. However, here are some common ones:

- believe one or more of these parts are not important

- overly focused on one or two of the 3 parts

- feel negatively toward one or more parts

- fear of integrating one or more parts

All of these reasons are due to a lack of education in one or more of these 3 principle parts. They don’t understand the value and importance of body, mind and/or spirit. They have not learned how to effectively integrate and balance these 3 parts in their lives. How could they? They are not taught much of this in school (especially when I went to school).

Some people are made aware of these 3 parts but are reluctant to integrate them. This is usually because they do not know how or where to start. Others will jump right in regardless, only to fall flat on their face. With this negative experience, they conclude that it’s just not for them. If only they had started at the correct level this would not have happened.

This is why I created the ‘V10 Health System’. I wanted to educate people on body, mind and spirit performance. How can I make it super clear so that anyone who was ready to start their holistic health journey, would start at the appropriate level? How can I ensure they have a great experience and not fall flat on their face (take on too much and quit)? With a great experience, I knew they would be happy to continue living holistically and enjoying the list of benefits listed above.
